Cleveland Two horseboxes
Built to order, our famous little 2-stall transporter horsebox is designed on the smaller chassis of 3.5 ton to 4ton option. Our compact transport box is a popular choice for racehorse trainers, transport companies and stud farms as well as the private individual and known to all as The Cleveland Two horsebox. Convenient and easy to park and drive, as well as being a cost effective unit too.
One of the most popular way horses can be transported in the smaller 3.5 tonne chassis is backwards, this is quite often due to the wheelbase configuration. To transport horses facing forwards can be an option subject to chassis wheelbase layout* (*Please contact us for details) . Our boxes all come with a heavy duty impact wall, and the centre partition can also be moved for mare & foal stalling, when necessary.
Throughout our builds we only use a high grade quality aluminium plank flooring which is overlaid with soft walk rubber matting. The side ramp requires guide doors or gates* (*due to the safety & movement of livestock) with option of either to the client.
We add the horse area CCTV with monitor to cab for peace of mind, which has an infrared water proof camera.
Our huge rear jockey door doubles up as your emergency horse access if ever needed (hopefully not!)
For the day Eventer, at the rear end can house saddle poles and bridle hooks, and a separate mini wardrobe with hanging rail for your jackets and boots – this is a customer option.
Many moons ago, it was ourselves, JSW, who introduced to the UK transport market the funnel/tube style of travelling for the horses which means that there is no breast barrier as the horses stand in a ‘room’ with a mesh fascia guards and the head-height to the ceiling, and a solid section lower – each section is open able to check each stalled horse – this is a Continental proven method which transporters are now recommending to each other.
The strength and design of our latest styled Cleveland Two Transporter can give a respectable payload* capacity on a fully finished horsebox but what is transported in the unit is governed by the user/owner and is not a responsibility of the manufacturer. (*this depends upon customer’s specification and chassis used, but donates a fully finished/spec’d unit)
Being rated on at 3500kg, this can be driven on a standard car licence; otherwise anyone wishing to drive a vehicle greater than 3.5ton will now have to take an additional vehicle test. The 3.5 tonne vehicle is currently MOT’d under a Class 7 testing station, and does not need an MOT until 3 years old from first registration. Please understand you cannot have any living on a 3.5ton due to its limited payload capacities.
Moving up to the 4.5ton to 6ton versions, again all built to order, (unless we find the perfect chassis for a stock box!) this is where a small living compartment can be added. From the basics of a simple ‘cup of tea and bacon buttie’ area to the luxury of a small living compartment for overnight stop overs with full cooking, clothes storage and shower with toilet facilities, from basic upholstery to the luxury of leather. Tack storage is always an important factor with plenty on board to all aspect of equipment including bucket and shovels. So why not contact us with your specification requisites by simply giving us a call to make a face to face appointment, having over 58 years of horsebox manufacturing we know the ‘ins and outs’ of horse transportation.
We don’t build off a brochure, What you don’t see please ask! We are specialists and manufacture to order.
